Commission for Art recovery

PROJECTS

One of the major deterrents to the recovery of displaced art works and other cultural property is the inaccessibility of these materials due to limited resources available for identifying and publicizing museum and library collections with incomplete or questionable provenance. The Commission for Art Recovery strives to help governments and museums worldwide to reexamine their holdings and to identify all artworks that may have entered collections, directly or indirectly, as a result of Holocaust art looting.

In some instances, we have sponsored cataloging or publication of heretofore unprocessed or unstudied materials.
